Lisa Januskey, O.D.

Dr. Lisa Januskey has the following designations:

Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist

These designations allow to her to diagnose and treat medical conditions of the eye (glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, foreign object removal, and more) with pharmaceuticals, including both eye drops and oral medications.

Developmental Optometrist

As a developmental optometrist, Dr. Januskey is interested in HOW your visual interpretation influences WHAT you see and how much EFFORT you expend to use your visual system.  Vision is not just about being able to see an object clearly.  Dr. Januskey can help you determine how your visual skills are impacting your ability to learn, read, and be productive.

Neuro-Rehabilitation Optometrist

As a neuro-rehabilitation optometrist, Dr. Januskey focuses on helping people who have suffered from traumatic brain injuries associated with concussions, strokes, nerve palsies, motor vehicle accidents, and more recover the visual and visual-perceptual skills they lost from their injury.

Sports Vision Optometrist

As a sports vision optometrist, Dr. Januskey helps athletes hone their already excellent visual skills, reaction speed, and peripheral awareness so that they can be competitive on a whole other level and reduce their probability of injury.

Professional and Educational Bio

Dr. Januskey graduated Summa Cum Laude with University Honors from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Genetics in 2002. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2006. She has received an additional 100 hours of post-graduate education in vision therapy, binocular vision and accommodative disorders, amblyopia and strabismus, and post-brain injury vision rehabilitation.  Her professional interests are in primary care, binocular vision disorders (including double vision, amblyopia, and strabismus), pediatric optometry, sports vision, and vision therapy.

Personal Bio

Dr. Januskey married her college sweetheart John Januskey.  Together, they started Precision Eye Care in 2007 and Apex Performance Vision in 2022 with the goal of helping members of their community reach their full potential.  They have six children Audrey, Joey, twins Brandon and Bradley, Jake, and Anastasia.  They are parishioners at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station.  In her (limited) spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, reading science and military fiction, attending OPAS productions and Aggie football games, and continuing to learn (she’s a big nerd).
